Engelermeer
The naturist beach is approximately 150 m from the entrance in the southwest part of the recreation area. Situated along a large lake for public recreation, the 1 to 2 hectare sunbathing area has a sandy beach and is surrounded by undergrowth. It is reasonably secluded, but there is little shade. The water varies in depth to a maximum of 2 m, and the swimming area is demarcated with float lines at a depth of 1 m to 1.5 m. There is limited supervision.
Access:
By bus, head from Den Bosch in the direction of Engelen/Bokhoven and get out at the last stop on Rietveldenweg, which is at least 2 km from the site. Alternatively, you can take the bus in the direction of the Kruiskamp neighbourhood and get out at either the last stop on Kooikersweg or the stop after that. Walk in the direction of Vlijmen via Kruiskampsingel, past the animal park, and cross the A59 motorway viaduct. From here, you should be able to see Engelermeer. By bicycle from the Kruiskamp neighbourhood, you should cross the A59 motorway. If coming from Vlijmen, you should head in the direction of Engelen.
By car from the A59 motorway, take the Engelen exit and continue in the direction of Vlijmen.
There is parking available free of charge for cars and bicycles, but it is unattended. Open from May to September, the recreation area is free of charge and suitable for disabled people.
Facilities
The naturist beach includes toilets with separate facilities for the disabled and a double outside shower (cold water). There are two jeu de boules areas (6 m x 12 m). The naturist activities association Naturistische Vrienden van het Engelermeer (NVE) offers a programme of events for everyone interested. Outside the naturist beach, there is a first aid post, food and drink concession, playground equipment and windsurfing facilities.Address details:
